The Vancouver AI Community hosted its 10th meetup in partnership with the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre, creating a unique fusion of artificial intelligence and space exploration. This event brought together researchers, artists, entrepreneurs, and AI enthusiasts for an evening of interdisciplinary innovation.

Suzanne Gildert explored consciousness and AI through her project Nirvanic.ai, focusing on technologies to understand and expand human consciousness.

Steven Ten Holder demonstrated the intersection of bioengineering and AI, pushing boundaries in human enhancement technologies.

Dean Shev showcased AI’s revolutionary impact on medical diagnostics and healthcare innovation.

Fergus Linley-Mota addressed AI governance challenges, advocating for transparent and accountable AI ecosystems through public empowerment.

The event featured multiple hands-on demonstrations and installations:

  • Gieskes HSSB3j audiovisual synthesizer provided unique sensory experiences mixing sound and visuals
  • Star-Stuff VR exhibit connected participants in shared cosmic experiences with anonymous strangers
  • Holonics Spatial Sensors demonstrated generative music experiments
  • Live podcasting of “The New Bright Idea” captured spontaneous discussions
  • Cyberpunk soundscapes by Holy Mother of the Void created an immersive atmosphere

Community Impact

This meetup represented more than networking—it aimed to build a movement shaping Vancouver’s tech future.
