Fishing at Deer Lake

The social isolation is a bit much but it has not stopped us from getting out. After aquiring fresh water fishing licenses we went on fishing expeditions to the nearest spot. Dear lake is a short hop away and has plenty of fish. We got there a bit late in the season for the trout. These are stocked in april. We have however had luck with sunfish and have spotted bass and carp.

Deer Lake is stocked between March and May, October and November with rainbow trout by the Fraser Valley Trout Hatchery. These trout are usually around 300g when they are released. The lake also has resident trout that can get quite big, but they are rare. Fishing for trout is best in spring and fall at Deer Lake.
