The Urban Aboriginal Ministry is a ministry of the Anglican Parish of St. Mary Magdalene in the Greater Vancouver Area to the First Nations people and their loved ones. The Ministry provide medicine wheel circles with smudging for all occasions (on request) and cultural funerals and weddings. It hosts Annual Feasts on Christmas, Easter and Thanksgiving. They also provide cultural gatherings where they teach arts & crafts such as drum making to restore the traditional ancestral teachings. The UAM responds to calls for practical needs such as food, furniture, clothing and transportation.
My principal role as the digital communications officer is to build and maintain the new website. It has been set up on Bluehost for now and runs on a wordpress blog. The site is a collective project. Images and videos are gathered by myself and others and posted by myself. We are looking for content moderators.
